April is Dog Appreciation Month to celebrate come to the 2nd floor of the library and find 1 of 2 dogs. Whoever finds a dog will win a prize of candy. Can be played once per day for the entire month of April. Note: no real dogs will be present. Just laminated dog cut outs.

Chair Yoga

Certified Yoga Instructor, Linda Rigsby presents a gentle, slow-flow yoga class modified for use with a chair. Gentle chair yoga increases mobility and improves mood. It is also shown to reduce the risk of falls. Participants will focus on breathing and keeping the mind steady while building strength and flexibility.

Tai Chi

The Oklahoma Healthy Aging Initiative (OHAI) Northeast Center of Healthy Aging will be providing the Tai Chi for Better Balance Program. The classes will be held Mondays and Wednesdays at 2:30 P.M. beginning March 6, 2023 through April 12, 2023 at the Q.B. Boydstun Library located at 201 E S. Ave in Fort Gibson.
Tai Chi for Better Balance is designed to fit the interest and needs of older adults who want to maintain their quality of life and help alleviate pain and increase their balance. The movements of Tai Chi help seniors reduce stress, increase balance and flexibility. Participants learn relaxation to improve their overall mind, body and spirit through a series of slow continuous movements. Tai Chi for Better Balance is for people at all levels of mobility and can be done while sitting.
Instructors provided by OHAI, a program of the Donald W. Reynolds Section of Geriatric Medicine at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. OHAI serves all individuals who are eligible for its programs without regard to race, national origin, ancestry, color, religion, sex, age or disability.
The Oklahoma Healthy Aging Initiative is a program of the Donald W. Reynolds Section of Geriatric Medicine at the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center and is supported in part by a grant from the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation.

While Weight Watchers is the grant-supported weight management program, we will support you in ANY weight management tool you use. Paper logs will be provided upon request.
These meetings are not official Weight Watchers meetings.
When the library is closed on Monday, the meeting will be held on Wednesday of the same week.
